Historical Museum Holds Fundraiser

Updated:

The Crawford County Historical Museum is holding a fundraiser today to help fund special projects.

The event is free and open to the public.

Fourteen local bands are performing outside of the museum to help raise money.

Food is available at the event, and people attending can bring coolers and are welcome to camp out at the site.

Officials say that it's about more than just raising money for the museum.

"I'd say the money isn't the important part of this," says Museum Director Mark Dulek, "It's really to make people aware of the museum and come out and use the museum because it is here. And it's for everybody. It's the county history and we want to share that with everybody."

The Crawford County Historical Museum features coal mining and farming artifacts, a one-room school house, an authentic neighborhood grocery store, and a coal mining steam shovel.
