St. Louis Avenue in Joplin to close between 8th Street and Campbell Parkway

Drivers in Joplin may want to leave some extra time while traveling St. Louis Avenue tomorrow.

Beginning at 7 a. m., St. Louis Avenue will be closed between 8th Street and Campbell Parkway.

City crews will be completing an overlay project that will continue until 7 p. m.

Drivers are urged to use caution and should expect delays during that time.

    A man who allegedly broke into a Joplin home, assaulted a person with a baseball bat and stole items is in custody. According to court documents, on April 13th around 7:00 a.m., 17-year-old Brenton Hollis and another unknown male broke into the front door of a home on S. Annie Baxter Ave. in Joplin, MO.     Update: Joshua Bard says he sent in a letter of resignation today (April 26th). -- A judge temporarily suspends Joshua Bard from being on the city council. Bard, a newly elected Joplin City Council member, submitted his resignation in early April because of a previous drug conviction. He then reversed his decision to resign.
