PSU Dorm Residents Use the Weekend to Move In to Some Newly Renovated Rooms

Updated:
It's move -in day at local universities. That's ringing thousands of new bodies into the community
Twelve hundred students will be living away from home  in the dorms at Pittsburg State University.  Students moving into Dillinger hall are finding a renovated space. Nation hall also got a makeover this summer. Students get a 230 square foot room. But more importantly had friendly helpers to ease their transition. Some  who've had the help themselves.

Move-in crew member Laura Kitch remembers her arrival, "It was really helpful because they knew where everything was so they where like, I know where your room is. It's just right up here. And  take them to it and show them around and be like, you can do this with your room because you kind of know how to rearrange stuff. So I am doing the same thing, you can bunk your beds you can put them this way its just you know what you are doing so."

Parent Darla Holden appreciated the effort saying, "I thought this was awesome. So, it was great to have people right here on the curb ready to help you and move every little thing. Sometimes they, you know, we've heard stories of universities where it's just helping move the big stuff but they were ready to move back packs and anything small too. So that was nice, very helpful."
