No. 23 RazorbackSoccer Opens Season; Looks to Break Record

No. 23 Arkansas soccer opens up the regular season this weekend as it takes the field twice, starting with Utah State on Friday, Aug. 22 at 7 p.m. in the home opener and against regional rival Oklahoma State on Sunday, August 24 at 7 p.m.


In addition to a weekend of great soccer, Arkansas Athletics will unveil several exciting promotions for fans of all ages and one very special challenge … break the single-game soccer attendance record!

Friday night against Utah State is UA Student Appreciation Night and the first 200 students in attendance with a valid University of Arkansas ID will receive the official 2014 Razorback Soccer Scarf.

Against Oklahoma State on Sunday night, the Razorbacks will be looking for all of the fans to come out to Razorback Field as we look towards “Break the Attendance Record at Razorback Soccer Night.” The evening will feature several special promotions.

Throughout the evening and at halftime, the Razorback Marching Band, “The Best in Sight and Sound” will preview its 2014 musical selections for those in attendance.

The Arkansas Volleyball team will also be at the game providing fans the chance to meet the team and coaches.

Sunday's student promotion will offer registered University of Arkansas students the chance to enter and win free textbooks for the semester up to $500.

Both games will be shown live on the SEC Network+.

    Former Labette Community College baseball pitcher, Jeremy Smith, was drafted on June 14 in the 2017 MLB draft in the 38th round by the San Diego Padres. Smith played for the Cardinals, under head coach Aaron Keal, in the spring of 2014 and 2015. He is the son of Jeremy and Tendeka Smith and a graduate of Bellaire High School. After attending LCC, he went on to play at Southwestern Oklahoma State in Weatherford, OK. More >>
