MIAA Announces Women's Soccer Pre-Season Poll

Defending MIAA regular season champion Central Missouri has once again been selected by the coaches to finish atop the league earning ten first place votes. They are followed by Southwest Baptist who won the MIAA post-season tournament in overtime over Central Oklahoma who is picked two points behind them in third place after receiving a single first place vote.



Northeastern State is picked just seven points behind UCO in fourth place overall. Washburn sits in fifth place in the poll with 72 points, Lindenwood is one points behind in sixth place with 71 points and just one point behind that is Fort Hays State with 70 points in seventh place.

Nebraska-Kearney is picked in eight place by the coaches while just three points behind them is Emporia State who is picked to finish in ninth.

Missouri Southern has been picked in 10th place overall just three points ahead of Northwest Missouri who is picked 11th. Missouri Western rounds out the coaches selection with the 12th pick.


The Lions will start their season on Sept. 4 as they travel to Springfield, Mo. to take on the Drury Panthers at Harrison Stadium. First kick is scheduled for 7:30 pm.

    Jeremy Jackson is named NEO men's basketball head coach.  Jackson has spent the last eight seasons as the assistant coach for the Golden Norse.  Last season, NEO finished third in the OCAC with an 11-5 conference record, and second in the Region II Tournament with a 22-9 overall record.

    At about 11:30 pm, April 21st, a vehicle crashed into the front door of Erie High School. According to USD 101 Superintendent Steve Wolf, a 16-year-old male from St. Paul drove a pickup truck through the hallways of the school. The incident damaged doorways, walls, furniture and the antique Richey's Drug Store soda fountain. The Erie Police Department arrested the teen at the scene. School officials are working to get the scene cleaned up in time for class on Monday. h...More >>
