Chanute Police and KBI Investigate Infant Death

The Chanute Kansas Police Department along with the Kansas Bureau of Investigation is currently investigating the death of 3 month old infant, Rylan Gurney, Chanute.  At approximately 1946 hours on 8/16/14 ambulance services were dispatched to 801 N Steuben Chanute for a child with respiratory problems.  The child was taken to ambulance to Neosho Memorial Regional Medical Center, and was transferred to Children's Mercy in Kansas city, Missouri shortly after arriving.  The child passed away at approximately 1044 hours on 8/22/14 while at Children's Mercy.  An autopsy has been partially completed and results will be pending for some time.  The investigation is still ongoing.  Anyone who may have information regarding this matter, is encouraged to call central dispatch at 620-431-5768.

The Chanute Police Department is currently investigating the death of 3 1/2 month old infant.  The child was initially taken to Neosho Memorial Regional Medical Center.  The child was later transferred to Children's Mercy Hospital in Kansas City.  The investigation is currently ongoing.
