Shakin' in the Shell and Car Show

Shell Knob, MO - Shell Knob Missouri's 9th annual Shakin' in the Shell Festival and Car Show takes place Saturday, September 20, 2014 beginning at 9:45 am and concludes at 8:00 pm. The Festival takes place at Shell Knob's Chamber Park located 400 yards west of Highway 39, across from Country Fresh Market down Needles Eye Road. The day's activities include the 25th annual Classic and Custom Car, Truck and Motorcycle Show and includes a new category this year, custom golf carts. There will also be a number of vintage tractors on display. This family fun day includes all day musical entertainment including headliner J Rock and the Third Street Band with Lead Singer Josh Davison from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. There is also a family fun area that includes a climbing wall, dunk tank, pony rides, inflatables, laser tag and new this year the jumping spider. There will also be a horseshoe tournament, a Kiss a Pig contest and the ever popular Ugly Dog Contest. There will also be a number of craft and food vendors on hand that include tasty food options such as the ever popular sliders, hot dogs, kettle corn, snow cones, cotton candy and a beer garden.     At about 11:30 pm, April 21st, a vehicle crashed into the front door of Erie High School. According to USD 101 Superintendent Steve Wolf, a 16-year-old male from St. Paul drove a pickup truck through the hallways of the school. The incident damaged doorways, walls, furniture and the antique Richey's Drug Store soda fountain. The Erie Police Department arrested the teen at the scene. School officials are working to get the scene cleaned up in time for class on Monday. h...More >>
