Press Release University of Arkansas:

Arkansas Running Back Coach Joel Thomas on Williams' and Collins' performance on Saturday… “Jonathan has never scored four touchdowns in a game, let alone college, so that's a big accomplishment for him. With 200 yards and everything else that Alex did, him being named SEC Player of the Week is well deserved. Hopefully we can keep the honor here a few weeks in a row.”

Thomas on Northern Illinois: “They bring pressure. They have two true defensive ends and two tackles so we have to prepare for everything they've shown on the field from last year to this year. Their formula has proven over time. You look at their schedule last year and they're fearless on the road against bigger opponents. They play very hard and are disciplined. They know themselves very well and that's scary for anybody they play against.”

Arkansas Wide Receiver Coach Michael Smith on the receivers' role: “They know they have a role. We've been encouraging them and getting them to understand that our time is going to come and when it comes we have to be ready. Jonathan Williams and Alex Collins were ready when their number was called on Saturday, and that's a great teaching moment for my kids. When your number is called, be ready.”

Smith on passing being the best kept secret in Fayetteville, according to Bielema: “That's what he (Bielema) brought me in here to do - to coach these guys and get them ready.  I have to believe that we've put together a good game plan the last couple weeks and we're going to continue to do that as a staff.  These kids are embracing that and getting better at it.”

Arkansas Running Back Alex Collins on the improvement of the offensive line: “It helps because it all starts up front in the trenches.  If those guys can't get it done in passing or running, nothing can happen for us.  We just give them praise and credit for getting bigger and stronger over the summer and making it happen up front for us.”
