Vitale Name MIAA Offensive Athlete of the Week

 Central Oklahoma's Quinn Tookey was named the MIAA Women's Soccer Athlete of the Week and teammate Brandi Bartley was named the Goalkeeper of the Week. The Offensive Athlete of the Week is Missouri Southern's Casey Vitale.

Casey scored three goals in Missouri Southern's two games this week as the Lions went 1-0-1. Vitale put the nail in the Rogers State coffin as she connected on two goals the first in the 66th minute as she hit the upper 90 near post off a pass from Bomar and then again in the 72nd minute as she hit the upper 90 back side on an unassisted goal. In the second game of the week Casey came through and scored for the Lions in the 78th minute on a header after a long pass from outside the box. That goal forced the tie with East Central as Southern fought back after a 2-1 deficit in the first half. On the week Vitale took six shots with the three goals for a shot percentage of .500, four of those shots were on goal for a SOG% of .667. The 5-6 senior forward is a native of St. Louis Mo. where she competed at Pattonville High School prior to competing at Lewis and Clark Community College.

MIAA Defensive Athlete of the Week
Quinn Tookey, D, Central Oklahoma

Tookey spearheaded a UCO defense that allowed just one goal in three wins last week, with the Broncho's giving up just 20 shots in wins over Oklahoma Christian (5-0), Southwestern Oklahoma (3-1) and Upper Iowa (1-0). She marked UIU scoring ace Aimee Wronski (who had 15 goals last year, including both in a 2-1 win over UCO) in Sundays shutout win and allowed her just three shots. Tookey also scored the first goal in the win over Southwestern Oklahoma. The 5-6 junior defender is a native of Coffeyville, Texas where she competed at Coffeyville High School prior to playing at Tulsa University.

MIAA Goalie of the Week
Brandi Bartley, GK, Central Oklahoma

Bartley allowed one goal in 225 minutes while making 11 saves as UCO went 3-0. The senior had one save while playing the second half in a 5-0 win over Oklahoma Christian and then went the distance in victories over Southwestern Oklahoma (3-1) and Upper Iowa (1-0). Bartley had four saves against SWOSU and six in the UIU victory, including five in the second half as the Broncho's pulled out a last-minute win. The 5-10 goalkeeper is a native of Tulsa, Okla. where she competed at Union High School.
