Madi Mosier led a balanced Pittsburg State University offensive attack and the Gorillas rallied from down two sets to defeat Southwest Baptist University, 3-2, Tuesday (Sept. 16) in the MIAA opener for both schools at Whetzel Court/John Lance Arena.

The Gorillas (4-5, 1-0 MIAA) fell behind 0-2 by dropping 25-23 and 25-18 decisions in the first two sets, but the Bearcats (5-4, 0-1 MIAA) couldn't close the deal. The Gorillas got the lead early and never looked back in the fifth and deciding set, taking it 15-13 to win the match.
