Joplin council members hold closed session for city manager search

Council members met behind closed doors to interview two of the three finalists for the position once held by Mark Rohr. The candidates took part in a reception Friday night, which was open to the public. A small crowd attended. 

Candidates Sam Anselm and Stephen Rasmussen were present today. The third candidate, Dean Kruithof, will be in town next weekend.

    The Joplin Police Department worked a deadly crash at 7th and Tri State Tuesday evening (April 24). Authorities say 58-year-old Mark Rohr, driving a Dodge Durango, was turning east from the stop sign at 7th and Tri State Road.  38-year-old Donald L. Kidwell III was driving a Kawasaki Ninja westbound on 7th street when he hit the rear driver's side of the Durango.  Kidwell was thrown from the motorcycle.
