Joplin, MO – The Area Agency on Aging Region X recently accepted a $3050 donation from Con-way Truckload to help support its nutrition program for seniors in Jasper, Newton, Barton and McDonald counties.

The AAAX nutrition program delivered approximately 184,000 meals to homebound seniors and served over 100,000 congregate meals last year in Jasper, Newton, Barton and McDonald counties.

The agency operates seven senior centers in its service area, along with family caregiver and ombudsman services, Medicare and benefits counseling, and information and assistance programs.

“We are very fortunate to have such a generous, caring community partner as Con-way Truckload," said Stan Heater, Area Agency on Aging's Executive Director. "This donation will help us to provide nutritious meals to seniors that can't provide for themselves."
