Freedom of Flight Adds Finishing Touches to Christmas Float

Updated:
In Joplin, a dozen members of Freedom of Flight Museum put the finishing touches on their float for next week's Joplin Christmas Parade.

Going along with the storybook theme, the float will tell the tale of Santa's epic flight to deliver presents.

But this year, Santa Opts to take a plane. The mechanical plane in which he and his toys will be is operated by children playing little elves.

“Just the fun of it and getting our name before of the public in this area and to let them know what we're doing here. And it's just fun for everyone to participate in the community activities,” says Darryl Coit, President of the Freedom of Flight Museum.

The Joplin Freedom of Flight Museum will open in about three to five years in the Joplin regional airport.
