MIAA men's basketball readies for league play

It's time for league play as MIAA men's basketball makes its move into week number four. 



Upcoming MIAA Previews:
#6 Central Missouri travels to Hays
Last Week: 11/29 d. Arkansas-Fort Smith 111-106 3OT   11/30 d. Tabor 77-62
Upcoming: 12/4 at Fort Hays State 7:30 p.m.   12/8 vs. Alderson Broaddus 7 p.m.
#6 Central Missouri will travel to Fort Hays State before returning home to face Alderson Broaddus. The Mules are led by MIAA Athlete of the Week Rakeem Dickerson who is averaging 15.1 points per contest. TJ White is averaging 10.4 points and a team best 7.1 rebounds per game off the bench.

Central Oklahoma gets things started at home
Last Week: 11/28 d. SW Christian 93-77   11/29 d. Southern Nazarene 74-70   12/1 d. Mid-America Christian 103-96
Upcoming: 12/4 vs. Lindenwood 7:30 p.m.   12/7 vs. Lincoln 2 p.m.
Central Oklahoma will open league play at home as they face Lindenwood and Lincoln this week. The Bronchos are led by Mahlon Jones who is averaging 14.4 points and Garen Wright with 13.4 points per game. Cal Andrews is averaging 11.5 points and Seth Heckart 10.6 points per contest this season as well.

Emporia State returns home for two
Last Week: 11/28 d. Eastern New Mexico 74-63   11/29 d. West Texas A&M 68-63
Upcoming: 12/3 vs. Northwest Missouri 7:30 p.m.   12/6 vs. Rockhurst 7:30 p.m.
Emporia State will be at home to face Northwest Missouri and Rockhurst. The Hornets are led by Terrence Moore who is averaging 19.0 points and a team best 5.0 rebounds per contest. Jay Temaat is averaging 11.2 points per contest and Jevon Taylor averaging 8.8 points per game.

Fort Hays State plays three at home
Last Week: 11/29 d. Sterling 92-54
Upcoming: 12/4 vs. #6 Central Missouri 4 p.m.   12/6 vs. Missouri Western 4 p.m.   12/8 vs. NW Oklahoma State 7 p.m. 
Fort Hays State will be at home for their next four with three during week number four. The Tigers are led by Craig Nicholson who is averaging 16.3 points per contest.

Lincoln hits the road for Oklahoma 
Last Week: 11/28 d. Philander Smith 84-78    11/29 d. Concordia (Ala.) 57-52   12/1 l. to Illinois Springfield 81-55
Upcoming: 12/4 at Northeastern State 7:30 p.m.    12/7 at Central Oklahoma 2 p.m.
Lincoln will be on the road as they face off with the two teams from Oklahoma. The Blue Tigers are led by Joshua Buie with 16.3 points and Mike Smith with 13.6 points per contest this season.

Lindenwood heads for Oklahoma 
Last Week: 11/26 d. Illinois-Springfield 72-63   11/29 d. Baker 81-53
Upcoming: 12/4 vs. Central Oklahoma 7:30 p.m.   12/6 vs. Northeastern State 3:30 p.m.
Lindenwood will head to face the two Oklahoma schools as they open league play. The Lions are led by Cory Arentsen with 12.3 points and Darris Smith with 11.0 points per game. On the glass Garrett Reeg is averaging 6.3 boards per contest.

Missouri Southern begins league play away from home
Last Week: 11/28 d. St. Mary's (Texas) 69-67   11/29 d. Midwestern State 77-71
Upcoming: 12/4 at Nebraska-Kearney 7:30 p.m.   12/6 at Washburn 7 p.m.
Missouri Southern will be on the road for two as they open league play. The Lions are led by Taevaunn Prince who is averaging 13.0 points, Lane Barlow with 12.6 points and Cameron Cornelius with 12.5 points per contest.

Missouri Western hits the road
Last Week: 11/28 l. to East Central 73-59   11/29 l. to #4 Drury 81-71   12/1 d. Hannibal-Lagrange 72-43
Upcoming: 12/6 at Fort Hays State 4 p.m.
Missouri Western will go on the road to face Fort Hays State in their only action of week four. The Griffons are led by Ryan Devers who is averaging 11.5 points and Kevin Thomas with 10.2 points and 5.7 rebounds per contest.

Nebraska-Kearney starts league play at home
Last Week: 12/1 d. Doane 87-66
Upcoming: 12/4 vs. Missouri Southern 7:30 p.m.    12/6 vs. Southwest Baptist 3:30 p.m.
Nebraska-Kearney will begin league play against MSSU and SBU at home. The Lopers are led by Ethan Brozek who is averaging 20.7 points and a team best 8.7 rebounds per contest.

Northeastern State at home for two
Last Week: 11/28 l. to Arkanas Tech 67-55   11/29 l. to Ouachita Baptist 99-87
Upcoming: 12/4 vs. Lincoln 7:30 p.m.   12/6 vs. Lindenwood 3:30 p.m.
Northeastern State will begin league play with two games at home. The RiverHawks are led by Michael Harmon who is averaging 19.0 points and Demone Harrison who is averaging 12.2 points per contest.

Northwest Missouri heads for Kansas
Last Week: 11/29 d. Graceland 91-68   
Upcoming: 12/3 at Emporia State 7:30 p.m.  12/6 vs. Pittsburg State 3:30 p.m.
Northwest Missouri head to Kansas as they face Emporia State and Pittsburg State on the road. The Bearcats are led by Justin Pitts with 17.0 points and Grant Cozad with 13.3 points per contest.

Pittsburg State at home to begin league play
Last Week: 11/26 l. to West Texas 72-63  11/28 l. to Tarleton St. 65-59
11/29 d. A&M-Kinsgville 95-83  12/2 d. Newman 82-66   
Upcoming: 12/6 vs. Northwest Missouri 3:30 p.m.
Pittsburg State begins league play at home against Northwest Missouri. The Gorillas are led by Josiah Gustafson with 17.0 points and Devon Branch with 16.6 points per contest this season.

Southwest Baptist goes on the road
Last Week: 11/28 d. Ouachita Baptist 74-70   11/29 l. to Arkansas Tech 72-59
Upcoming: 12/4 at Washburn 7:30 p.m.   12/6 at Nebraska-Kearney 3:30 p.m.
Southwest Baptist will hit the road for two as they open up MIAA play. The Bearcats are led by Menas Stephens who averages a double-double with 10.6 points and 12.4 rebounds per game.

Washburn returns home
Last Week: 11/26 d. Northwest Indian 80-59  11/28 l. to BYU-Hawaii 90-80
Upcoming: 12/4 vs. Southwest Baptist 7:30 p.m.  12/6 vs. Missouri Southern 7 p.m.
Washburn will return home as they begin league play against Southwest Baptist and Missouri Southern. The Ichabods are led by Alex North who is averaging 13.8 points and 7.2 rebounds per contest.
