Webb City Farmer's Market Collects Used Glasses

The New Year is a time to start fresh, and what better way to see the world in a new light than with a fresh pair of eyes.

Visitors at the Webb city farmer's market filled up an entire tub with glasses, to be donated to a US run Methodist clinic in Jamaica.

Market musician Corky Dowe is heading to the island next month on a medical mission, and says the people are in desperate need of eyewear.

"It's the perfect time of year to be cleaning out your drawers. Most of us have too many things that we don't use anymore. So we're going to put these to good use," says Volunteer Manager Eileen Nichols.

The market's accepting all types of glasses-reading, prescription, sunglasses; and for all ages.

The glasses drive will run all month and can be donated when the farmer's market is open every Saturday from 9-12pm.
