A couple of battles between teams in the top 25 highlight week nine in MIAA women's basketball. 



Upcoming MIAA Previews:
Central Missouri splits road and home in week nine
Last Week: 1/8 l. to #5 Pittsburg State 54-52    1/10 d. #1 Emporia State 62-61
Upcoming: 1/14 at Missouri Western 5:30 p.m.     1/17 vs. Northwest Missouri 1:30 p.m.
Central Missouri will face Missouri Western away from home before returning home to face Northwest Missouri. The Jennies are led by Shelby Winkelmann who is averaging 16.3 points and Justina Prairie Chief with 12.9 points per game. Revonnia Howard is averaging 12.5 points and 9.3 rebounds while Jasmine Thompson is averaging 12.3 points per game.

Central Oklahoma stays on the road
Last Week: 1/8 d. Missouri Southern 54-51    1/10 d. Southwest Baptist 72-65
Upcoming: 1/15 at Fort Hays State 5:30 p.m.    1/17 at Nebraska-Kearney 5:30 p.m. 
Central Oklahoma stays out on the road as they put a five game winning streak on the line. The Bronchos are led by Haley Weathers who is averaging 11.3 points, Olivia Mason with 11.0 points and Kylie Mayes with 10.2 points per contest this season. On the glass Julia Mason is averaging 5.3 rebounds per game.

#3 Emporia State faces top ten tilt
Last Week: 1/8 d. Missouri Western 57-56     1/10 l. to Central Missouri 62-61
Upcoming: 1/14 at #2 Pittsburg State 5:30 p.m.
#3 Emporia State will be on the road to face #5 Pittsburg State in a clash of two teams in the top ten. The Lady Hornets are led by Kelly Moten who is averaging 14.4 points and Merissa Quick with 11.2 points per game. Addie Lackey is averaging 10.5 points and 4.5 assists while on the glass Amber Vandiver is averaging 7.7 boards per contest. 

Fort Hays State faces Oklahoma schools
Last Week: 1/8 d. Lindenwood 75-60      1/10 d. Lincoln 61-53
Upcoming: 1/15 vs. Central Oklahoma 5:30 p.m.     1/17 vs. Northeastern State 2 p.m.
Fort Hays State will face off with the schools from Oklahoma in week nine. The Tigers are led by Kate Lehman who is averaging a double-double with 21.1 points and 10.3 rebounds per game. Chelsea Mason joins her in double figures with 13.1 points per game.

Lincoln comes back home
Last Week: 1/10 l. to Fort Hays State 61-53
Upcoming: 1/17 vs. Missouri Southern 1:30 p.m.
Lincoln will face off with Missouri Southern at home in their only action of week nine. The Blue Tigers are led by Hunter Yoakum who is averaging 12.6 points, Dorian Briggs with 11.4 points and Kate Frazier with 11.1 points per contest.

Lindenwood closes out homestand
Last Week: 1/8 l. to Fort Hays State 75-60
Upcoming: 1/15 vs. Missouri Southern 5:30 p.m.    1/17 vs. Robert Morris-Springfield 1 p.m.
Lindenwood will close out a three-game homestand in week nine. The Lions are led by Kassidy Gengenbacher who is averaging 10.0 points and Jenny Rocha with 12.9 points per game. on the glass Vanessa Zailo is averaging 13.9 rebounds per contest.

Missouri Southern goes on the road
Last Week: 1/8 l. to Central Oklahoma 54-51    1/10 d. Northeastern State 50-34
Upcoming: 1/15 at Lindenwood 5:30 p.m.    1/17 at Lincoln 1:30 p.m.
Missouri Southern will travel to Lindenwood and Lincoln this week. The Lions are led by Sharese Jones with 14.5 points and 7.4 rebounds per game. Also in double figures is Nicole Hartzog with 12.1 points per contest.

Missouri Western at home, then on the road
Last Week: 1/8 l. to #1 Emporia State 57-56    1/10 l. to #5 Pittsburg State 81-71
Upcoming: 1//14 vs. Central Missouri 5:30 p.m.    1/17 at Southwest Baptist 1:30 p.m.
Missouri Western will be at home to face Central Missouri before traveling to Southwest Baptist. The Griffons are led by MIAA Athlete of the Week LaQuinta Jefferson who is averaging 22.1 points per contest.

Nebraska-Kearney opens up homestand
Last Week: 1/8 d. Northwest Missouri 71-54  
Upcoming: 1/15 vs. Northeastern State 5:30 p.m.    1/17 vs. Central Oklahoma 5:30 p.m.
Nebraska-Kearney will open a four game homestand in week number nine. The Lopers are led by Laramey Lewis who is averaging 17.1 points and 7.6 rebounds per game. Amarah Williams is averaging 16.6 points and 8.3 boards per contest.

Northeastern State closes out road trip
Last Week: 1/8 d. Southwest Baptist 60-45      1/10 l. to Missouri Southern 50-34
Upcoming: 1/15 at Nebraska-Kearney 5:30 p.m.    1/17 at Fort Hays State 2 p.m.
Northeastern State will close out a four game road trip against UNK and FHSU. The RiverHawks are led by Chelsey Beathard who is averaging 11.0 points and Fontana Tate with 10.4 points per game.

Northwest Missouri closes out week on the road
Last Week: 1/8 l. to Neb-Kearney 71-54   1/10 l. to #13 Washburn 77-65
Upcoming: 1/14 vs. Southwest Baptist 5:30  1/17 at Central Missouri 1:30 p.m. 
Northwest Missouri will be at home for SBU before traveling to UCM to close out the week. The Bearcats are led by Ariel Easton who is averaging 13.8 points and 5.3 rebounds per game.

#2 Pittsburg State faces top 25 teams
Last Week: 1/8 d. Central Missouri 54-52   1/10 d. Missouri Western 81-71
Upcoming: 1/14 vs. #3 Emporia State 5:30 p.m.   1/17 vs. #18 Washburn 1:30 p.m.
#2 Pittsburg State will be at home to face two teams in the top 20. The Gorillas are led by Lizzy Jeronimus who is averaging 20.0 points and 6.5 rebounds and Kylie Gafford with 12.4 points and 5.8 boards per game.

Southwest Baptist plays one at home, one on the road
Last Week: 1/8 l. to Northeastern State 60-45  1/10 l. to Central Oklahoma 72-65
Upcoming: 1/14 vs. NW Missouri 5:30 p.m.   1/17 at Missouri Western 1:30 p.m.
Southwest Baptist will start the week on the road before returning home. The Bearcats are led by Dilonna Johnson who is averaging 9.8 points and Sarah Magana with 4.5 rebounds per game. 

#18 Washburn faces off with #2 PSU
Last Week: 1/10 d. Northwest Missouri 77-65
Upcoming: 1/17 at #2 Pittsburg State 1:30 p.m.
#18 Washburn will face off with #2 Pittsburg State in their only action of week nine. The Ichabods are led by Taylor Ignoto with 15.3 points, Casyn Buchman with 13.7 points and Honor Duvall with 12.9 points and 6.3 boards per game.
