PRESS RELEASE MSSU:

Missouri Southern volleyball coach John Napier has named Lauren Noble as the team's new assistant coach. Noble replaces Priscilla Morgan who left to be head coach of the University of the Southwest.

Noble comes to Southern after a season as an assistant coach and instructor at Lamar Community College in Lamar, Colorado. There she was in charge of all scouting, supervising the student-athletes' study hall sessions and setting up recruiting visits. She also served as a fitness instructor with the college.

Prior to LCC, Noble was a graduate assistant at Central Methodist University in Fayette, Mo.  At CMU, Noble was served as the lead assistant for the varsity program, while also serving as the head coach of the junior varsity squad.

A 2011 graduate of College of the Ozarks Noble was an honorable mention All-Heart of America Conference selection as a freshman at Central Methodist. She also played at Missouri State - West Plains and Southwest Baptist University, before finishing out her career at College of the Ozarks in 2010. At SBU, Noble was in the top five in the MIAA in digs, and she was a first-team All-Conference selection at C of O.

While in college, Noble also served as a coach with Club Bear, coaching teams ranging in ages 14-18. She holds a bachelor of science degree in health and wellness from College of the Ozarks and a masters of education with an emphasis in athletic administration from Central Methodist, graduating Cum Laude.

"We are happy to welcome Lauren to the Lion family," Napier said. "She comes highly recommended from other coaches and administrators in the area. I think she brings something different to our program because her priorities were improving our volleyball skills and – more importantly -- making our players better people and leaders. That really stuck out in her interview. Lauren also has great recruiting connections in the area and her communication skills will help us tremendously as we get better every year. She was a top defender when she played in the MIAA and I believe her competitiveness and toughness will help our defense improve."
