Homemade Biscuits Recipe

BISCUITS

2 cups soy flour blend
1 tablespoon plus 1 teaspoon baking powder

1½ tablespoons sugar

½ teaspoon cream of tarter
¼ teaspoon salt

½ cup 
margarine or shortening 
2/3 cup 
soymilk

Preheat oven to 450F.  Thoroughly combine soy flour blend, baking powder, sugar, cream of tarter and salt.  Cut in margarine or shortening until coarsely mixed.  Add soymilk and mix to form a soft dough.  Place dough on lightly floured surface and gently knead dough until a smooth ball.  Pat or roll to ¾-inch thickness.  Cut with a 2½ biscuit cutter or drop on ungreased baking sheet about 1-inch apart. Bake at 450F. for 10 to 12 minutes or until golden brown.  Remove immediately from baking sheet. Makes 8 biscuits
