Three Games in Four Days on Tap for Gorilla Women

The No. 9 Pitt State women's basketball team will play three games over the next four days, two of them on the road. The team travels to Northeastern State on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m., returns home for a 7 p.m. game against Central Oklahoma on Thursday, the travels to Southwest Baptist for a 1:30 p.m. matchup on Saturday.



Wednesday's game will be a doubleheader with the men. Central Oklahoma and Southwest Baptist are both single games without a men's game following. The student section theme for the Central Oklahoma game is Disney.

Northeastern State is 9-9 overall with a 5-6 MIAA record. They are currently ninth in the MIAA. The team was on a four-game losing streak before earning a 58-54 win over Washburn on Saturday. The team averages 50.8 points and 31.9 rebounds a game.

Central Oklahoma is 13-7 with a 6-5 league record. The Bronchos are tied with Central Missouri for fifth in the conference standings. The team is currently on a four-game losing streak. The Bronchos average 67.7 points and 37.8 rebounds per game.

Southwest Baptist is 7-10 overall and 3-7 in the conference, currently 11th in the standings. The team lost six games straight before earning wins over Missouri Western and Lindenwood, then on Saturday, the team lost a game at Lincoln. The Bearcats average 65.4 points and 36.2 rebounds per game.

Pitt State has a 17-3 record and a 7-2 record in league standings. They are currently third in the league standings and have dropped to No. 9 in the latest WBCA Coaches Poll after Saturday's loss to Fort Hays State, who moved to up to No. 6 in the nation. The Gorillas score 74.8 points and 38.2 rebounds per game. They shoot at a .440 clip with a .318 shooting percentage from long range.

Lizzy Jeronimus leads the Gorillas with 19.7 points and 6.6 rebounds per game. She also leads the team in assists with 51 on the season. Jeronimus needs just six more points to score her 2,000th career point. Kylie Gafford adds 11.6 points and 5.9 rebounds per game. She leads the team in both blocks (25) and steals (28). Cathy Brugman is just under double figures with 9.1 ppg. Morgan Westhoff leads the Gorillas from long range with 28 threes made and a .400 three-point shooting percentage.
