Press Release PSU:

The Pittsburg State University baseball team will return to action Friday (Feb. 13) when the Gorllas open a four-game non-conference series against MIAA rival Northeastern State University. The Gorillas and RiverHawks will face one another in a Noon doubleheader Friday at Tahlequah, Okla. The two squads then will travel to Pittsburg for a Saturday (Feb. 14) twinbill starting at 1 p.m.

Pitt State's home opener originally was scheduled for Sunday, but the games were moved up due to an unfavorable weather forecast at the end of the weekend.

The Gorillas enter the weekend action with a 2-2 record. Pitt State split four games at the QuikTrip Division II Classic at Grand Prairie, Texas.

Early in the season, Pitt State has a .235 team batting average, scoring 3.75 runs per game. The Gorillas have a 4.32 team ERA. Senior outfielder Andrew Kreiling leads the squad with a .538 batting average. He has five runs scored, four doubles, a triple and two RBI on the year.

The RiverHawks are 1-0 on the season. NSU defeated Oklahoma Christian, 3-2, in their season debut at Rousey Field on Feb. 7.
