PSU Students Perform First Play in New Bicknell Center for the Arts

Updated:
Pitt State students put on their first play, Eurydice, at the brand new Bicknell Center for the Arts.

We got a preview beforehand of the new theatre during the show's tech rehearsal.

Students tested out the lighting and sound effects in the new state of the art, $33 million facility.

Students say it was hard to get staging right while the theatre was still under construction. But now it's all come together.

"It's been really cool. I was in the last production which was in memorial, which I love doing that! But it's so cool being here in like our own space and showing it off to everybody! We are excited to show off this space to everybody and how hard we worked on this set and like transitioning into a place like this has been so cool! We've been so excited about it,” says Freshman Stage Manager Ila Phelps.

This weekend's production was held in the more intimate Dodi and Bill Miller theatre. On march 12th, the Bicknell center's grand opening will be held in the larger Scott Hall.
