The Independent Living Center receives $10K grant

Updated:
JOPLIN, MISSOURI -

On Thursday, February 26th, The Independent Living Center received a $10,000.00 grant thanks to the generosity of the Coover Charitable Foundation Trust, The Commerce Trust Company, and Community Foundation of the Ozarks. The grant will go to fund various youth programs at The Independent Living Center, including a two day summer camp for youth with disabilities. The camp will focus on social skills, interacting with peers, and the practice of transitioning from youth to adulthood; a time in life that can often be taken for granted by others. We are so happy to be able to provide this service to the youth in our community and look forward to all the wonderful things the future holds.

For more information or ways to get involved with youth programs contact Phyllis Craig, Youth Transition Coordinator or Joanne Carlson, Core Services Manager at The Independent Living Center.
