MIAA announces Indoor Track and Field Coaches of the Year

Pittsburg State men's track and field coach Russ Jewett and Central Missouri women's track & field head coaches Kirk Pedersen and Kip Janvrin were named 2015 MIAA Indoor Track & Field Coaches of the Year, the league office announced Tuesday.


Jewett has been named the MIAA Coach of the Year a record 32 times between indoor and outdoor track and field and cross country. He wins the award after leading his team to their second straight indoor championship.

Janvrin and Pedersen claim their 15th MIAA Coach of the Year honor indoors and their 25th overall in track and field. The pair led the Jennies to the MIAA Indoor Track and Field Championship.

    The Colgan Panthers golf team finished as the runner-up in the 2A State Tournament on Monday, behind only Salina-Sacred Heart which won its 3rd consecutive state title.
