Sixty-seven student athletes entered in National Indoor Track and Field Meet

Sixty-seven MIAA student athletes have been selected to compete in the NCAA Division II National Indoor Track and Field Championship. Pittsburg State has the most student athletes making the trip as 14 will be competing in 15 different events at the meet.

Central Missouri will be represented in the most events as 13 student athletes will compete in 18 different events. Lincoln will have 12 student athletes competing in 12 events between the men and women's teams.

On the women's side Central Missouri has athletes in 11 events, Lincoln will be represented in 10 events and Pittsburg State will be represented in seven events. On the men's side Pittsburg State will be represented in eight events, Central Missouri will have athletes in seven events and both Emporia State and Missouri Southern will be in five events.

The national meet is scheduled for March 13 and 14 from Birmingham, Alabama.

    April 23, 2018: A Fox affiliate in Tulsa, Fox 23, is reporting that one person is in custody related to the disappearance of Ashley Freeman and Lauria Bible.     Joplin Police received a call about an armed robbery on Sunday just before 10:00 p.m. (April 22, 2018). An employee at Charlie's Chicken (2020E. 32nd Street) says she locked the business up and was walking to her vehicle when a male walked up to her in the parking lot. She said he pointed a handgun at her and demanded the night deposit bag. She gave the suspect the bag and says he ran to the southwest. Police officers could not find him.
