Press Release PSU:

Pittsburg State University head football coach Tim Beck announced today (Mar. 4) that Lorenzo West, a senior at MacArthur High School in Lawton, Okla., has signed an NLI to join the Gorillas for the 2015 season.

Additionally, Beck announced three transfers — junior wide receiver Levi Copelin, junior cornerback Tyree Jefferson and freshman quarterback John Roderique, Jr. — have enrolled at Pitt State and joined the Gorillas this semester.

West (5-11, 175), a wide receiver, set a school record with 1,176 receiving yards and 17 touchdowns while helping the Highlanders to the Oklahoma Class 5A state title his senior season. He earned All-State honors as a return specialist. West also earned a pair of track & field state titles on relay teams as a junior in 2014.

Copelin (6-2, 190) transferred to Pitt State from the University of Missouri. He will have junior eligibility next fall. The Broken Arrow, Okla., native was the District Player of the Year as a senior in 2011 when he recorded nine interceptions. He also won a pair of state titles in track & field in the 110m and 300m hurdles.

Jefferson (6-0, 185) came to Pitt Sate from Lackawanna (Pa.) College. The Philadelphia, Pa., native, who will have junior eligibility next fall, made 16 tackles and recorded one interception as a sophomore in 2014. He was a stand-out prep athlete at Philadelphia's George Washington High School.

Roderique (6-4, 220) transferred to Pitt State from Sam Houston State University. The Webb City, Mo., native spent two seasons at SHSU but did not use any eligibility. He led Webb City High School to a 30-0 combined record and back-to-back Missouri Class 4A state titles his final two prep seasons. Roderique was the Class 4A Offensive Player of the Year his senior season in 2012.
