Nevada man charged for death of infant

Nevada Police report that they have concluded an investigation into the tragic death of a three year child which began on October 29th with a call for police at the Nevada Regional Medical Center (NRMC), Emergency Room. Investigating Officers were informed that 3 year old Ethan Warner had been in the care of a family friend when he received suspected hot water burns. When the child's mother returned home and discovered the injury, the child was driven to the NRMC for treatment. The child was later flown to Kansas City based, Children's Mercy Hospital for advanced treatment where he died from his injuries on November 2nd. The Jackson County Medical Examiner had jurisdiction and has ruled the death a Homicide.

Upon conclusion of the investigation, police applied for an arrest warrant against suspect who had been watching the child at the time of the incident. On March 12th, Vernon County Associate Circuit Court issued an arrest warrant against:

Jerry Penticuff, age 32

Penticuff is a Nevada resident. He has been charged with Murder 2nd Degree, a Class A Felony. Bond was set at $1,000,000, cash only. Penticuff is currently incarcerated in the Missouri Department of Corrections on an unrelated incident

The child's mother and family members are not suspected of any criminal act and have been cooperative during this investigation.
