Oliver sentenced to supervised probation

Update 2/12/2016: Virginia Oliver was sentenced in Neosho County Court to one year supervised probation sentence on Monday. she was sentenced for Theft of property or services; Value $25,000 to $100,000

On February 19th, the Neosho County Sheriff's officer received a report of suspicious activity involving a Consolidated Unified School District 101 employee's personal checking account. An investigation was initiated into allegation of potential embezzlement. Search Warrants were executed on the employee's bank records, CUSD 101 bank records and a search warrant was completed at the CUSD 101 bank records and a search warrant was completed at the CUSD 101 District Board office.

On February 24th, CUSD 101 Board Clerk Virginia (Ginny) Oliver, 57, Erie was arrested for felony theft, forgery, misuse of public funds and official misconduct. Oliver was released from custody on a surety bond of $20,000. Her next appearance is March 24 at 9 a.m.

CUSD 101 Erie Board Clerk Virginia Oliver was charged with 16 criminal counts. 

The charges are theft, presenting a false claim, misuse of public funds and 13 counts of forgery.

The complaint alleges that she wrote 13 fake payroll checks on the school district's account last July.

The missing funds occurred from July 2013-Feb 2015.
