Joplin Brides Shop & Swap For Their Dream Weddings

Updated:
Brides shop for all the components of a dream wedding in Downtown Joplin today.

It was the swap and shop expo at the Cosmopolitan Event Center. About twenty vendors offered goods from custom cakes to flowers to decorations.

This is the first year wedding planners "Bridal Bliss" has put on the event and organizers say it's a good option for new vendors to reach customers.

"My favorite part about this show is that it introduces the brides that are getting married in the next two years to a lot of our local wedding vendors that maybe aren't as big on Facebook or as big in the circuit. And it gives them a chance to hopefully take advantage of that and to really get some really good deals for their weddings," says "Bridal Bliss" owner Josh Shackles.

Brides were also able to score a used wedding gown in a "Bridal Swap.” Some say they hope that aspect of the fair will grow as the expo becomes more established.
