HOMESTAND HIGHLIGHTS: APRIL 6-9

As the 2015 season begins, the reigning American League Champion Kansas City Royals open the season at Kauffman Stadium by hosting A.L. Central division foes, the Chicago White Sox.  During the homestand, the Royals will offer the return of great programs including Student Night (April 8), GordoNation (April 9) and All You Can Eat Seats (April 9).  Please see below for more details.


Monday, April 6 – OPENING DAY: Chicago White Sox vs. Royals, 3:10 p.m.

·         Opening Day Giveaways – The first 40,000 fans will receive a 2015 magnetic schedule, courtesy of Sprint. In addition, rally towels will be distributed to the first 40,000 fans, courtesy of KCP&L.

Tuesday, April 7 – Off Day

Wednesday, April 8 – Chicago White Sox vs. Royals, 7:10 p.m.

  • Student Night presented by INK Magazine Rivals Outfield Plaza or Hy-Vee View Level tickets are available for Wednesday home games for youths and students with a valid ID at the Kauffman Stadium Box Office for just $8.  Select tickets are also available online at www.royals.com/studentnight.  Seating is subject to availability.  All Student Nights include pregame food and beverage specials available at the Crown Classics concession area.
  • Local Music Showcase presented by INK Magazine Catch a free pregame concert on us!  Every Wednesday Student Night also features live local music prior to the game in the Outfield Experience.  Performing during this showcase will be Katy Guillen & the Girls.  For details, visit www.royals.com/studentnight.  
Thursday, April 9 – Chicago White Sox vs. Royals, 1:10 p.m.

  • GordoNation – Fans can enjoy being a part of GordoNation, a special seating section in left field reserved for die-hard Alex Gordon fans on Thursday home games throughout the season.  For $30, fans get a lower level ticket in left field and a Charlie Hustle brand GordoNation t-shirt (photo attached)!  For details, visit www.royals.com/specialevents.
·         All You Can Eat Seats – During select Thursday home games throughout the season, fans can purchase All You Can Eat Seats located in the Loge Level (Sec. 319 – 325), which include unlimited ballpark fare.  All the hot dogs, nachos, peanuts, pretzels and Pepsi products you can handle for $45 per seat!  Individual and group discount tickets are available.  For details, visit www.royals.com/allyoucaneat.

    Brian Barksdale is sentenced for first degree arson for setting fire to his Joplin apartment on South St. Louis. On May 23rd, 2018, Joplin emergency crews responded to the Cardinal Apartments at 1015 South St. Louis for a structure fire. Firefighters arrived on scene shortly before 10:00 p.m. and found a two-story wood frame multi-residential structure with heavy fire coming from an apartment on the first floor.     A former Columbus elementary principal is found guilty of attempted indecent solicitation of a child. Baxter Springs resident Ray Alfred Golden is accused of trying to persuade a child to enter his home with the intent to commit an unlawful sexual act upon the child in the home. The alleged incident happened in August 2015. On October 18th, 2018, Golden entered a plea of guilty in lieu of proceeding to trial.
