Southern football releases 2015 schedule

The Missouri Southern athletic department has announced the 2015 MSSU football schedule. 


The schedule will feature five home games and six road games. All games will be MIAA contests. 

Missouri Southern will open the season at home on Thursday, September 3, playing host to Emporia State. Kickoff from Fred G. Hughes Stadium will be 7 pm. 

After a road game at defending MIAA Champion Northwest Missouri, the Lions will be back home to host Nebraska-Kearney on September 19 at 6 pm. Southern plays two more road games (at Washburn and Central Missouri), before coming back home for the final home night game of the year with a 6 pm kickoff against Central Oklahoma on October 10. 

Homecoming for 2015 will be on October 24 when Southern plays host to Lindenwood University. Kickoff for that game will be 3 pm. Southern is at Pittsburg State for the annual State Farm Miners Bowl game with a 2 pm kickoff on Halloween (Oct. 31). 

Senior day will be November 7 when the Lions play host to Fort Hays State for a 3 pm kickoff and Southern will conclude the regular season with a 1 pm game on November 14 at Missouri Western.

    The Missouri State Highway Patrol says a Golden, Missouri man has died in a single-vehicle crash on May 22nd, 2018. The crash happened around 3:35 p.m. in Barry County, MO. According to the MSHP, 65-year-old Dale C. Shepard was driving on MO 86, about one mile west of Golden, when he drove off the road and hit several trees. Authorities say he died at the scene. This is MSHP Troop D's 42nd fatality accident for 2018.More >>
