Forty-four pounds of marijuana seized at Joplin bus station

Joplin police officers arrest a man carrying a large amount of marijuana during a routine safety check.  The officers were carrying out the check at the Greyhound bus station in Joplin, when they noticed a suspicious passenger without a ticket for the bus.

After further investigation, they determined that the suspect was the owner of a piece of luggage that had gone unclaimed by any passenger.  After searching the luggage, they found three bundles of marijuana, weighing-in at 44 pounds.

The suspect, 21-year-old Joseph Guzman from Dallas, was arrested on charges of theft of services for failing to purchase a bus ticket, and for first degree trafficking for the marijuana.
