Crews Work to Fix Handicap Curbs on 32nd & Range Line

JOPLIN, MISSOURI - Crews start work tonight on handicap curbs along 32nd Street and Range Line Road in Joplin

The crews will be working from Sundays through Thursdays from 7pm to 7am along Range Line and 32nd Street to fix handicap curbs that are out of ADA compliance.

Portions of lanes will have to be shut down at night while the crews are working.

The project's foreman says the fix will make life easier for those in wheelchairs.

"If it's too steep than a wheelchair could turn over and that's the main reason for it. Or for people that don't have a motorized wheelchair can use you know their arm power to get up and down the sidewalk without it being too steep,” says Hunter Chase & Associates Foreman Jeff Payne.

Drivers are urged to use caution in these areas and watch for workers.

Payne says the work should be finished the last week in May.
