Robertson and Rynard Earn Daktronics All-Region Honors

 Pittsburg State freshman pitcher Emmie Robertson and senior designated pitcher McKenzie Rynard have been named to the Daktronics/D2SIDA All-Central Region first team. 

This is the second Daktronics honor for Rynard, who was also a first-team honoree last year. Rynard finished her senior season with .336 batting average and a team-leading .664 slugging percentage. She hit nine doubles and nine home runs, while driving in 30 RBI. Rynard was a first-team All-MIAA selection at designated player.

Robertson is receiving her first all-region honor. She finished her freshman campaign with a 2.03 ERA abd a 26-10 record, while holding opponent batters to a .202 average. Her 26 wins on the season tie a school record. She fanned 238 batters with 231.0 innings pitched, setting a new Pitt State single season strikeouts record. Robertson was the MIAA Pitcher and Freshman of the Year and is a top 10 finalist for the NFCA National Freshman of the Year.

Pittsburg State finished the season with a 36-19 record and were the MIAA runners up, both in the the regular season and in the conference tournament.

    The Missouri State Highway Patrol says a Golden, Missouri man has died in a single-vehicle crash on May 22nd, 2018. The crash happened around 3:35 p.m. in Barry County, MO. According to the MSHP, 65-year-old Dale C. Shepard was driving on MO 86, about one mile west of Golden, when he drove off the road and hit several trees. Authorities say he died at the scene. This is MSHP Troop D's 42nd fatality accident for 2018.More >>
