Severe Weather Destroys Trailer & Barn in Fairland, OK

FAIRLAND, OKLAHOMA - Severe weather wreaks havoc in Oklahoma, uprooting trees in Wyandotte and destroying structures in Fairland.

Cindy Brown's trailer home on 590 road was one of the hardest hit in the area.

Her trailer was blown back several feet, blowing out the windows, taking out walls, and toppling more than one hundred year old Choke Cherry tree in her front yard.

Brown who lives alone, took shelter in her living room when the winds blew her and her dogs around the room.

"The windows blew out and I just knew I had to get down and then I just grab my two older dogs to hang on to 'em. It's just like and I felt at peace actually and just felt like it had moved around. And then next thing I know I'm in the air with the dogs and then I come back down and it was over,” says Brown.

She and her dogs escaped with only a few minor scratches from the ordeal and says she's thankful to be alive, despite her home and entire barn being destroyed.

Ottawa County's Emergency Manager says spotters did see a tornado west of Fairland, but the National Weather Service is still surveying the data and have yet to confirm if a tornado actually touched down.
