Former Joplin teacher sentenced to years for sex crimes

Update 7/20/2015:  Today a Jasper County Judge sentenced a former Joplin High School teacher to 4 years in prison for sexual conduct with a couple of students.  Jessica Low will serve 4 years for both 2nd Degree Rape and Sexual Conduct with a Student. 

According to court documents Low took a plea deal in March to drop March to drop Count III Furnish Pornographic Material or Attempt to Furnish to a Minor and plead guilty to the other charges.

Updated 5/18/2015:  Low entered a plea deal to two of three counts: 2nd Degree Rape and Sexual Conduct with Student. Sentencing is set for July 20, 2015.

June 2, 2014:  Jessica Low, 32, worked as a Communication Arts Teacher at Joplin's Freshman Sophomore Campus. School officials tell us she resigned back in March. Investigators say Low sent pornographic images to male students and also had a sexual relationship with one student. Low is charged w/ Furnishing Pornographic Material To A Minor, statutory Sodomy, and Statutory Rape in the 2nd Degree.
