Pool Season Kicks Off with a Rainy Start

Updated:
MIAMI, OKLAHOMA - Not great weather but pools all across the Four States open this holiday weekend as an unofficial kick off to summer.

It's usually a busy day in Miami, Oklahoma when pools first open but it was slow because of the clouds.

The reluctant stuck their toes in the water and watched their friends swim by, but.those brave enough to test the chilly pools.

The weather didn't stop young Ava who has been counting down the day for the pools to open for summer.

"I've been waiting for it felt like twenty years and when I jumped in it was so cold," says Fairland resident Ava Breach.

But she says that didn't stop her from having fun, enjoying  the water park without all the crowds.

The Miami pools are open till mid august, others like Joplin open till around Labor Day.
