Joplin School Board President Supports Huff's Decision to Put Family First

Updated:
JOPLIN, MISSOURI - Joplin School Board President Jeff Koch says he stands behind C.J. Huff's decision. Huff will serve only until the end of June.

Koch says the board will have a lot to discuss at their next meeting, which is scheduled for June 23rd. He says they might discuss plans for the district sooner than that if a special meeting is called. He says the school board can either appoint an interim superintendent from within the board or from elsewhere while they're looking for a permanent replacement. Koch says he's behind Huff's decision to put family first.

“Surprised but after he explained the reasons behind wanting to spend some more time with his family and slow down. When you're operating on such a high sustained level of activity for such a period of time it can wear on you, it could wear on a family. And I'm just appreciated of the time that he's spent."
