Calhoun, Norris, and Smith consumed the drug on Friday night and Saturday morning. Calhoun said Norris had a severe reaction to the drug early Saturday morning at 104 East Bond Street. Calhoun and Smith consumed more methamphetamine sometime between 5 AM and about 10:30 AM. Calhoun said Smith also had a severe reaction to the drug. he left her there alone. When he left, she was lying on the kitchen floor. A few hours later, Calhoun returned to the house on Bond Street and found Tosha Norris dead.

Neighbors raise concern after Monet police investigate homes where two women were found dead

"I've lived here eight years. I never thought anything like this would ever happen, especially in this small of a community. But it's happened twice now,” says neighbor Larry Hinds.

Police were called to the scene Saturday night when the suspect 35-year-old Alexander Calhoun Junior called 911.

Larry Hinds lives just across the street from where 25 year old Tosha Norris was found dead in her bedroom.

"It's kind of nerve racking. I knew Tosha, I didn't know her real well. But I spoke to her about every day. She always waived. She's always friendly. Well she always waved. She's got two kids a little boy and a little girl,” says Hinds.

Just minutes earlier dispatch also got the call that 37- year-old Anna Smith was found dead in her kitchen, blocks away.

Monett Police Chief Timothy Schweder says "It's very unusual for our community here . I think the last homicide we had was in 2009 I believe. So we don't have that kind of violent crime very often. And these are suspicious deaths and we are certainly taking these very seriously and investigating. And if there are charges that we can bring against someone in the deaths we will do that."

Police say all three knew each other well and that Calhoun and Tosha were in a long term relationship.

The deaths have got the small town of almost nine thousand on edge.

"I'm out here every day checking on my brother in law and it's just unusual to hear of a murder being committed right across the street, right in the middle of town,” says Hind's relative.

Calhoun is currently being held in Barry County Jail on a domestic violence charge that stems from an incident with Tosha who police say was choked by Calhoun back in February.

Chief Schweder says a preliminary autopsy report and formal charges are expected tomorrow against the suspect.
