Drag Racers from Across the Country Ride in Honor of Jeryka Lawrence
PITTSBURG, KANSAS -
Drag racers from across the United States make the trip to "Mo-Kan Dragway.” They're riding in honor of a fellow racer who died two and a half years ago from cancer.
For Kyle Lawrence, the Mo-Kan drag has a special place in his heart.
He and his late wife, Jeryka, had fond memories racing at the track.
During Jeryka's long battle with multiple cancers, Kyle says the racing community helped pay for medical bills and hospital visits.
Kyle says the money raised today will help return the favor.
Proceeds go to the "Drag Racers Benevolent Fund" and "C.O.R.E. Ministries."
"We are doing it…to help give back to the people who helped us out a bunch with flights to hotel rooms and hospitals in Houston. And we went to Bethesda, Maryland. When somebody else has a problem they can have the help that we had. The support that we had,” he says.
