Body identified in Parsons Fire

PARSONS, KANSAS -

(7/8) The body has been identified as that of James A. McGlothlin age 50 of Parsons. The fire and death are currently being investigated as an intentional fire set by McGlothlin, prior to his exiting the house, then entering a shed at the residence, where he succumbed to self inflicted injuries.

(From Labette County Sheriff's Office) On July 7, 2015 at 4:08hrs Labette County 911 Dispatch received a report of a structure fire at 4852 W Main/west of Parsons. 

Upon arrival emergency responders discovered the residence (house w/attached garage) fully engulfed by flames. Responders further discovered the body of a man, age 50 of Parsons, deceased at the residence. 

The structure fire and death remains under investigations by the Labette County Sheriff's Department and the State Fire Marshall's Office at this time. 
Multiple agencies, including Labette 9 Rural Fire. Parsons Fire, Osage Rural Fire, and Altamont Rural Fire Departments assisted in extinguishing the fire. 

The identity of the man is being withheld pending notification of family. 

No further information is available at this time.
