Peters Shines at World Games in L.A.

New Hope Bulldog Chevi Peters is in Los Angeles this week competing in the Special Olympics world games. Peters, went into the games having already won a national championship in powerlifting, but wanted to show what he could do on a world stage. And that's just what he did.

On Tuesday, Peters brought home the gold medal in the squat competition, the deadlift competition, and the combination. On top of that, he also earned a silver medal in the bench press.

"It feels great," says Peters, "All my hard work and dedication I've put in the gym finally paid off. I'm excited to be a world champion and I couldn't be more proud of myself."

So Peters is a national champion and a three time world champion. What's next?

"When I get back to Kansas I want to try to be a firefighter," Peters says, "That's kind of my next goal."

After watching Peters over the last couple years, our advice is to not bet against him.
