RELEASE FROM PSU ATHLETICS

PITTSBURG — Pittsburg State Athletics will host a day long Football Kickoff Event at the Robert W. Plaster Center on Saturday, August 15.

The day begins with the annual YMCA Youth Clinic at 10:30 a.m. where local youth get the opportunity to practice drills and interact with Gorillas players during an hour-long session.

Next, the Gorillas will host their annual Autograph Day activities in the Plaster Center from Noon to 1:30 p.m. The team will distribute and sign 2015 schedule posters for all fans. Come early as the autograph line grows fast!

Following Autograph Day, the excitement continues at 2:30 p.m. with Pitt State's first ever Tailgate Kickoff Event. Gorilla fans are invited to practice their tailgating in the Plaster Center parking lot. Fans can bring their own food and beverages just like game day. There will be a live band – The Tippers – in the parking lot for entertainment and PSU Athletics also will have hamburger combos (hamburger, chips, bottled water) available for $5.

During this time, fans also can take self-guided tours of the Plaster Center and the new Weede Building renovations. Season tickets can be picked up at this time; and any fans wishing to purchase single game tickets for any of the first three games can do so during the event.

All Kickoff Event activities are free.

Following the Football Kickoff Event, the 6th Annual Ladies Night at the Pitt begins at 5:30 p.m. This annual event provides an opportunity for women to learn more about football and connect with the Gorilla players and coaches, while helping a good cause. The $25 fee for Ladies Night goes directly to local cancer charity Angels Among Us. The evening activities include happy hour with food, beverage and a complimentary gift.

Following Ladies Night, the packed activities include the Gorillas' 11-on-11 scrimmage under the lights at Carnie Smith Stadium beginning at 8 p.m. The scrimmage is free and Gorilla fans are encouraged to get a sneak peek of the 2015 Pitt State squad in action.
