Neosho Inspector picked for International Building Code conference

NEOSHO, MISSOURI -

John Harrington, City Inspector for the City of Neosho, has been selected by the International Code Council as a “Code of Honor Emerging Leader” in the building inspection field.

Harrington will now travel to Long Beach, Calif. in the fall to participate in a week long, all-expense-paid conference with other professionals, including engineers and architects, from around the country to help review and revise the 2018 International Building Code.

Selection for the honor was based on a number of factors, including job experience, qualifications, training levels, and active participation in various organizations, among other criteria. Harrington was chosen over candidates from larger municipalities, including major U.S. cities.

“Any time you get recognition it’s good, but to be nationally recognized by peers in your field makes it a little better,” Harrington said. “It’s always nice to represent my city on a state level, and it will be great to represent Neosho on a national one.”
