Neosho School District names Black & Gold Rush Winners

Neosho School District is celebrating football homecoming with a new event and hopeful yearly tradition named the Black & Gold Rush. Community businesses were encouraged to decorate their storefronts in black, gold, and wildcat gear to be judged for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place by Neosho administrators.

The response was overwhelmingly positive with nearly 30 participants the first year. "I am absolutely blown away and very appreciative to our community for showing their support of our students. It has been awesome to see the community and school working as a team," said superintendent Dan Decker.

Winners will be awarded at their place of business at approximately noon today and a schedule is attached below. District superintendent and assistant superintendents will deliver a pride basket to all winners and a large trophy to the first place winner. The trophy will have the names of each yearly winner and will travel to the winning business each year.

3rd place: Wildcat Corner and Family Market

    The Wyandotte Nation is searching for the next Chief of Police, according to the Wyandotte Tribe of Oklahoma. Ken Murphy has resigned his position as Chief of Police of the Wyandotte Nation Tribal Police Department (WNTPD) after serving in the position for nine years. Officer Faron Lee, who has served with the department for eleven years, will serve as Interim Police Chief.
