The Southwest Missouri DWI Task Force Cracks Down on Impaired Drivers

CARTHAGE, MISSOURI -

The Carthage Police Department received a grant from the Missouri Department of Transportation’s Highway Safety Division for participation in the “Arrive Alive.” campaign to stop people from driving impaired.  A sobriety checkpoint was conducted on September 25th,2015.

During the checkpoint, 1,030 vehicles were contacted and Officers made one arrest for Driving While Intoxicated, five arrests for Driving While Revoked / Suspended, three arrests for not having a drivers license, two arrests for not having insurance and two arrests for vehicles that were improperly registered.

In total, 16 arrests were made at the checkpoint.

“It’s never worth the risk to drive while under the influence of drugs or alcohol,” stated Chief of Police, Greg Dagnan.  “Whether it is your license, your money or your life – You Drink and Drive. You Lose.”

    On November 15th, 2018, the Ozarks Drug Enforcement Team and Carthage Police Department served a search warrant at 1200 Regan Avenue in Carthage, Missouri. Authorities detained nine suspects and after further investigation, arrested five of them.
