VERNON COUNTY, MISSOURI -

Two Vernon County residents are in custody after what Sheriff’s Officials are calling their largest drug bust this year for Vernon County. According to records, Julie M Drake, 47 of Nevada and John E Slichenmyer, 45 of Nevada have been charged with 1st degree Trafficking in Drugs, an A felony along with numerous other felony charges.

According to Vernon County Sheriff Jason Mosher, A search warrant was served at a residence on E Lady Rd just North of Nevada early Wednesday morning by the investigations division of the Sheriff’s Office that resulted in the seizure of methamphetamines, marijuana and approximately $4,700 in cash. “We believe there was a large amount of drugs being distributed into our county through this location” Mosher said. The Sheriff said the retail value of the drugs seized would have a street value of over $10,000. “We found numerous containers that had hidden compartments in them so a lot of time and effort had been put into this case.”  The Sheriff said the investigation is still ongoing but a large amount of drugs have been taken off the street.

Drake, and Slichenmyer are being held in the Vernon County Jail on a $10,000 cash only bond.
