(News Release from the Neosho Police Department)

On October 28th, around 15:00 the Neosho Police and the Newton County Sheriff’s department were provided information and shown the whereabouts of a deceased person in rural McDonald County on Stover Hollow Road.  Information was obtained from an informant that the death occurred sometime during the month of July in the Neosho RV Park on Washington Ave.

The McDonald County Sheriff’s Department was called in to process the scene and recover the deceased.  The body was found wrapped up in what appeared to be a camping tent approximately 15 feet from the roadway.  The scene was processed by all three agencies and the body was then turned over to the McDonald County Coroner’s office to be transported to Springfield, Missouri for an autopsy.

The identity of the deceased is not known at this time.  The autopsy has not provided any information as to who this individual is, or the sex of the person.

Both the Neosho Police Department and Newton County Sheriff’s Department will be investigating this incident as a Homicide.
