Joplin High School Students Surprise Cancer Patient with Jammies

Updated:
JOPLIN, MISSOURI -

An eleven year old who's battling brain and spinal cancer gets a big surprise from Joplin High School students.  Several campus clubs, led by the Young Business Leaders of America, raised money to donate sixty-six pairs of PJs to Easton Murdock. Since mid-September Easton has been collecting PJs to be delivered to St. Louis Children's Hospital where he receives treatment. Easton says jammies are way more comfortable than hospital gowns.

"It's amazing,” says Easton.

"It is. It really...it's amazing to think so many people want to help and help this project that we came up with just thinking maybe we'll get a few pairs to take up there, and it just has exploded,” says Easton’s mom Megan Guodace.

"It actually made me kind of emotional. It was really awesome to see the person that we've been helping to actually see his face and to see him here, and see how much it's going to help the kids that he's taking them to in St.  Louis."

Easton and his mother have collected about three hundred pairs of pajamas so far. Their campaign ends this weekend.
