Single Vehicle Accident in Crawford County

On 11-03-2015 at approximately 1:20 pm, Crawford County Sheriff's Deputies responded to the area of 260th Street and 600th Avenue in reference to a possible injury accident.

Deputies found a female occupant, 55 years of age of Mindenmines, MO, deceased from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident. It was determined that the woman was driving a 2005 Mercedes Benz south on 260th Street when she entered the east ditch striking a culvert and fence causing the vehicle to overturn and ejecting Heckert from the vehicle. She was the only occupant in the vehicle at the time of the accident. She was taken to Kansas City, KS for autopsy by order of the Crawford County Coroner.

Crawford County EMS and Arma Fire also responded to the accident.

The circumstances surrounding the accident are still under investigation by the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office. Anyone with information regarding this incident is encouraged to contact the Sheriff’s Office at 620-724-8274.

    The Nevada Police Department received a call on August 15th, 2018 about a deceased woman in a motel room. According to Lt. Steve Basto, it appeared she had been dead for some time, however, authorities are waiting on autopsy results to determine how long. Lt. Basto says they do not suspect foul play at this time.
