Trolley routes shift in afternoon of Tuesday, Dec. 1, due to Christmas Parade

JOPLIN, MISSOURI -

Joplin’s Christmas Parade is Tuesday, December 1, and Main Street from 15th Street to 26th Street will be closed in the late afternoon for staging the 100-plus entries in the event.

Because of this street closure, the Red Route Sunshine Lamp Trolley stops located at 15th, 20th, and 26th Streets will be moved during the 5 o’clock hour. Please note the following changes:

·         15th Street stop will be located on the north side of the intersection in front of Dixie Printing;

·         Trolley stops located at the Main Street intersections at 20th and 26th Streets will be moved to the west, and the stops will be set up on Joplin Street.

·         The Green Route Trolley Stop at 25th will be moved to Virginia Street during the 4 o’clock hour;

·         The Green Route will end at 32nd  and Main at 6:05 p.m.

    A McDonald County, Missouri couple is sentenced for a 2016 crime involving kidnapping. On October 25th, 2016, McDonald County Sheriff's deputies responded to 321 West Sarratt Road in Goodman regarding a well-being check involving an elderly man. According to court documents, when authorities arrived they found a 79-year-old man in a room with a padlock on the outside of the door.
